A human body has been discovered on the Weaver's Wood Trail, which has been closed for weeks for investigation by Gloaming PD as part of a missing person's case. $A newspaper clipping, reading as follows: HUMAN REMAINS IDENTIFIED BY POLICE. The remains of previously missing resident Shelly Fennel have been identified by Gloaming PD forensics experts and medical specialists. According to Gloaming PD, identification of the remains discovered on the Weaver's Wood Trail in late May proved difficult due to their poor condition. "Cause of death is still uncertain," says GPD spokesperson Shay Edwards, "but dental records and DNA analysis allowed us to confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the body of Shelly Fennel." One perplexing development has arisen since identification. Limb fractures suggest a violent struggle with a wild animal, rather than a human assailant. "A black bear is one possible culprit," says Edwards. Bear encounters are extremely rare in Gloaming, but not unheard of. Rangers advise park visitors to review safety procedures for hiking and overnight camping. Another source of uncertainty in the process was the apparent aging of the remains. Though Ms. Fennel disappeared in February, the body's physical condition implies a state of decay which aligns with corpses l"left undisturbed for years," perplexing experts.$
