Welcome to the official site for all happenings within the county of Gloaming, SC.
Gloaming is a town with a rich and varied history of industry, agriculture, and connection to the beautiful natural resources surrounding its developments.
Above all, the people make this community what it is today with their friendly spirits and helping hands. No place does hospitality like Gloaming.
Thank you for visiting!
Q: What does the name Gloaming come from?
A: When the town of Gloaming was first established, the founders noted the beauty of the forests and lakes at dusk and wanted to name their community accordingly. Our local forest critters like deer and rabbits are crepuscular as well, coming out primarily in the twilight!
Q: Why is 2013 significant?
A: 2013 was significant for several reasons. For one, it was a legendarily good year for agriculture. The Fall Harvest Festival was particularly splendid that year! Notably, our livestock competitions drew crowds from all over the state (and from out of state as well!) 2013 also marked the grand reopening of the Weaver's Wood trailhead to public access.
Q: What is the usual commute from Columbia to Gloaming?
A: Depends on how badly you want to get there!☺︎
Q: Is there a way to fully stop the rot?
A: No! We can only do our best to isolate the spread.
Q: What happened to Shelly Fennel?
A: Gloaming PD is working tirelessly to resolve this case, they have assured us. We cannot comment definitively on her whereabouts, but we may uncover the circumstances of her disappearance very soon.
Q: How do I exist in Gloaming?
A: We are the last destination on the route. When you think the bus ride is over and you've missed your stop, you are here. As day turns to night, our friendly welcome sign will emerge from the shade of the pines and you'll know you're home.
